How it Works

WHAT IS FOOTY LINES?

Ever turned off the game in disgust when the team you've tipped is down by 10 goals? Footy Lines fixes that. A tipping competition with a difference. The margin matters when you are tipping on every game at the line!

HOW IT WORKS

Each week you will select a team at the line (or spread), which is the points handicap for each game of the round.

Points will be scored for every correct 'line' selection (10 points).

You will also select a Best Bet (2x) for the week to score additional points (10 points).

Finally, pick the Closest to the Pin — the game where the final margin finishes closest to the game's handicap. If you correctly select the closest to the pin you will receive bonus points equalling the gap between the margin for the game and the handicap.

Example: Richmond (+17.5) v Carlton (-17.5) and the final margin is Carlton win by 22 points. If this was the game closest to the pin, then 4.5 bonus points would be up for grabs.

THE LINE (OR SPREAD)

The line or spread is the handicap applied to each game.

Example — Round 1: Richmond (+17.5) v Carlton (-17.5) The line has been set at 17.5 points. • Tipping Carlton means to cover the line they need to WIN by 18 or more points. • Tipping Richmond means to cover the line they just need to lose by 17 points or less (or win outright).

TIPPING

Head to the Tipping page before the round deadline.

For each game, review the spread shown next to each game and make your selection.

Lines will move during the week but will then be locked in 24 hours prior to the first game of the round.

Submit your tips before the deadline — once the first game of the round kicks off, tips are locked.

Selections must be in prior to bounce-down of the first game of the round.

If you fail to submit your tips prior to the start of the first game, you will receive a substitute score which is equal to the minimum score of the round.

ENTRY AND PRIZES

Entry fee for the season is $50 (plus a payment processing fee).

Payment must be in prior to the start of Round 1 or you will not be able to submit your tips.

Tipping starts in Round 1 (not Opening Round) when entries close.

Prizemoney will be awarded at the end of the season to the overall winner and runner up.

Prizemoney will also be awarded each week to the top scorer of the round (or shared among multiple).

There will also be a 'Last One Standing' Knockout competition based on correctly selecting your Best Bet each week until only one remains.

Check the Standings page to see results for each round and the overall leaderboard.
